She has just two weeks. Two weeks to teach him how to fall in love – with his own life.

Adam Basil and Christine Rose are thrown together late one night, when Christine is crossing the Halfpenny Bridge in Dublin. Adam is there, poised, threatening to jump. Adam is desperate – but Christine makes a crazy deal with him. His 35th birthday is looming and she bets him she can show him that life is worth living before then.

Despite her determination, Christine knows what a dangerous promise she’s made. Against the ticking of the clock, the two of them embark on wild escapades, grand romantic gestures and some unlikely late-night outings. Slowly, Christine thinks Adam is starting to fall back in love with his life.

But has she done enough to change his mind for good? And is that all that’s starting to happen?

My Thoughts

Cecelia Ahern is quickly becoming one of my favoruite authors and one of my auto-buys. I absolutely adored PS I Love You (Still one of the only books to make me blubber like a baby),  Love, Rosie and really enjoyed her YA debut, Flawed.

Ahern is skilled in taking your serious topics, making you blubber like a baby but still laugh throughout.

Being Chic Lit, How to Fall in Love is highly predictable, it’s cliched but boy is it good. It centers on Christine, who after trying to convince a person not to commit suicide made a wrong move and watched him do it. Desperate not to let another happen, when she finds Adam on the bridge she makes a deal with him: she has two weeks to prove to him that life is still worth living.

I read this book so quickly, becoming engrossed in the story. In true Ahern fashion, despite it being about dark and serious topics, it was full of sass and wit making me audible laugh numerous times. I especially loved the banter between Christine and Adam, and Adam dressed up as Where’s Waldo and chasing his ex-girlfriend around town with Christine in tow.

For a enjoyable and quick read, definitely pick this up.
